Baguio nabs wanted persons in two days

The Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) was able to arrest two wanted persons in two days of successive operations.

Baguio City’s number 3 Most Wanted Person (MWP) fell into the hands of the authorities in Maligaya, Tarlac City on May 16, 2023 – after 17 years of hiding.

PCPT Angeline Dongpaen, Information Officer of the BCPO identified the accused as a 40-year-old man and a resident of Zone B, San Miguel, Tarlac. The accused was tagged as the number 1 Top Ten Most Wanted Person (STTMWP) of BCPO-Abanao Police Station (PS1) for multiple attempted murder.

“BCPO-City Intelligence Unit (CIU) took the lead along with the 304th Maneuver Company-RMFB 3 in arresting the wanted person by virtue of an Alias Warrant of Arrest issued by Regional Trial Court, Branch 7 of Baguio City on May 16, 2023 for the crime of Multiple Attempted Murder with recommended bail amounting to PHP120,000.00,” Dongpaen reported.

According to the investigation, he was accused of being involved in the explosion incident along Upper Assumption Road, Baguio City, which resulted in the injuries of four individuals and went into hiding in 2006.

The accused is now under the custody of the arresting unit for documentation and proper disposition.

On May 17, another wanted person was arrested by the personnel of BCPO-Kennon Police Station (PS8) in Camp 7.

A 27-year-old man identified as a construction worker and a resident of Brgy. Lawlawitan, Bauko, Mt. Province was accused of frustrated homicide with a pending case in court.

Dongpaen said the Regional Trial Court Branch 78 First Judicial Region, Baguio City issued a warrant on May 8, 2023 with recommended PHP100,000.00 bail for his temporary liberty.    

However, the Office of the City Prosecutor of Baguio indicted the accused for frustrated homicide due to the sustained severe traumatic brain injury of the victim in a mauling incident.

The accused is now under the custody of PS8 for documentation. – JMPS
