Amusement centers reminded not to admit minors during restricted hours

Amusement establishments were reminded not to admit minors in their premises during class or curfew hours.

This after a complaint was received by the City Mayor’s Office that a certain billiard joint was allowing entry even to elementary schools during curfew hours.

The Baguio City Police Office Precinct 73 later came to check and found no minors at the time. Police personnel reminded the employees of the prohibition.

Minors under 18 years old are generally prohibited from entering establishments like bars and certain amusement centers during school hours.

The BCPO said they enforce the curfew hours for minors as a “measure to protect children from crime, violence and harm through conduct of intensified patrolling.”

Ordinance Number 50 series of 2009, as amended by Ordinance Number 23 series of 2018, prohibits minors or those under 18 years of age to roam, or play on streets, roads, plazas, parks, or other public places or establishments in the City of Baguio from 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. the following day.

Also, in Ordinance No. 1, s. 1990, minors are prohibited from entering or staying in any night club, bars, and within the premises of retail wine dealers, either as customer, employee, or under any capacity. – Aileen P. Refuerzo
