813 land titles, ₱6.5M in mortgage condonation, FME to be awarded to CAR ARBs

Over 650 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) across the Cordillera region are set to receive land titles, certificates of mortgage condonation, and farm machinery and equipment in a regional turnover ceremony organized by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) and the World Bank on August 1 at Davidson Hotel.

A total of 813 electronic titles and Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOAs) covering 351.33 hectares of agricultural land will be distributed to 654 ARBs from Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, and Mountain Province under the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) Project.

Among the provinces, Abra has the highest number of distributed titles at 596, followed by Kalinga with 138. The land awarded in Kalinga also covers the largest area at 131.82 hectares.

Meanwhile, 135 ARBs will benefit from the issuance of Certificates of Condonation and Release of Mortgage (CoCRoMs) with a total condoned amount of ₱6.56 million. Kalinga accounts for the bulk of these with 134 certificates covering 72.76 hectares and ₱6.49 million condoned.

Two agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organizations (ARBOs) in Kalinga, the Urnos Bayabat RIC Marketing Cooperative in Tabuk City, and Rang-ay San Quintin Farmers Association in Rizal will receive farm machinery and equipment (FME) valued at ₱3 million, benefiting 100 ARBs.

Leading the activity are Assistant Secretary Marjorie P. Ayson, SPLIT National Project Director, and Kathrine Kelm, Senior Land Administration Specialist from the World Bank. They will be joined by DAR-CAR Regional Director Rodrigo O. Realubit, Kalinga Governor James S. Edduba, Congresswoman Caroline B. Agyao, Tabuk City Mayor Darwin C.
