4 Drug personalities arrested, over P2.6M worth of Marijuana seized

Personnel from Mountain Province PPO, RMFB 15, RIU 14 and PDEA Mountain Province arrested four (4) drug personalities in a checkpoint operation at Abatan Junction, Bauko, Mountain Province on August 12, 2021.

Based on reports submitted to PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, Regional Director, the suspects were identified as Christian Allen Vergara Habab, 24; Aljon James Ambasing Bangayan, 30; Mark Hombrobuen Amandre, 23; and John Randolf Torres Cadavez, 22, all residents of Ilocos Sur.

According to Bauko MPS, they received information from PDEA Mountain Province Operatives that four (4) individuals boarding two (2) NMAX Motorcycle are transporting suspected illegal drugs. This prompted them to established a checkpoint at Abatan Junction, Bauko, Mountain Province which resulted in the arrest of the suspects.

Seized during the operation were 18 bricks of dried marijuana leaves and nine (9) pieces of tubular dried marijuana weighing more or less 21.697 kilograms with Standard Drug Price (SDP) amounting to Php 2,603,640.00.

Onsite inventory of the pieces of evidence recovered was conducted in the presence of the suspects and witnessed by Brgy Chairman Cleto Caslangen Agluya; Brgy Kagawad Jacinto Balingao Joaquin; Mr. Ceasar Calapiao Boguen of DZRA Radio Pilipinas; and Prosecutor Mary Grace Manzano Dalog.

The arrested suspects were brought to the custody of Bauko MPS for documentation prior to the filing of cases for violation of RA 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 against them. (PROCOR-PIO)
