4 drug couriers busted in a checkpoint, high-value drug personality nabbed

CAMP MAJOR BADO DANGWA, LA TRINIDAD, BENGUET – (April 27, 2021) – A tip-off regarding a marijuana transport led to the arrest of four individuals in a checkpoint operation in Sadanga, Mountain Province while a buy-bust in Baguio City yielded another High Value drug personality in the late evening of April 26, 2021.

Based on reports sent to the Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, arrested suspects in Mountain Province were identified as Lorence Bautista Ignacio, 21;  John Ceasar Padilla, 20;  Dan Mark Roa Delos Reyes, 21; and Vince Marie Robles Cruz, 21, all residents of Parang, Marikina City.

According to the operatives, they received information about a marijuana transportation alleged to be coming from Kalinga. Thus, a checkpoint was established by Sadanga MPS together with the PDEA – Mountain Province at Sitio Ampawilen, Poblacion, Sadanga.

The operatives intercepted a Black Toyota Avanza Wagon with four occupants, and loaded with eight marijuana bricks, two ball shaped and one in tubular form of dried Marijuana with fruiting tops weighing about 8,250 grams with an estimated value of Php 990,000.00 in plain view.

The four suspects were subsequently arrested while seized drug evidence were brought to PDEA-Cordillera Regional Laboratory Office for drug test and qualitative examination.

Meanwhile in Baguio City, a High Value Individual (HVI) identified as Steven Ken Mark Camarillo Buscaga, 29, was arrested in a buy-bust operation along Palispis Highway, Barangay Imelda, Baguio City.

Buscaga, currently under the custody of Legarda Police Station, was arrested after selling suspected “shabu” weighing about 0.5g with market value of Php 5,500.00 to an   operative who acted as a poseur buyer.
