CITY OF ILAGAN, ISABELA- At the height of simultaneous indignation protest against the Communist Terrorist Groups conducted by the different sectors of Region 2, three remnants of the Section Guerilla Unit of Komiteng Probinsya Isabela, Komiteng Rehiyon-Cagayan Valley surrendered to the personnel of 1st Isabela Police Maneuver Force Company (IPMFC) on Mar. 29, 2022 at Sitio Lagis, Brgy. In a press conference led by PCol. Julio R Go, director of Isabela Police Provincial Office (IPPO), the three rebels and the three M16 rifles, two short and one long magazine, and 23 pieces of live ammunition which they surrendered along with nine other different firearms yielded from the other intensified NTF-ELCAC campaign of IPPO were presented to the local media.
The former rebels claimed that they were deceived to join the rebel groups in 2016 with a promise that they will live a comfortable life. But they end up tired of fighting against the government.
Go said the 1st IPMFC will ensure the security of the former rebels and will provide food and shelter until they receive the financial assistance they can avail from the firearm remuneration based on Circular No. 2015-03 of the Dept. of Interior and Local Government aside from the benefits of the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program or E-CLIP.# MAE BARANGAN // FNS
