3 MILITIA NG BAYAN MEMBERS IN BENGUET AND ABRA RETURN TO THE FOLDS OF LAW

CAMP MAJOR BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – (June 16, 2021) – Through the continuous efforts of Police Regional Office Cordillera, three (3) Militia ng Bayan members, seeking for a peaceful life, voluntarily surrendered to the authorities in Benguet and Abra on June 15, 2021.

In Benguet, after series of negotiations, two (2) Militia ng Bayan members, alias“Noel”, 28, and alias “Joey”, 46, finally return to the folds of law, as they surrender to the operatives of the Regional Mobile Force Batallion 15 (RMFB15), RID PROCOR, and Benguet police, in Camp Major Bado Dangwa, Alapang, La Trinidad.

Based from the reports, the MB surrenderees were members of KLG Montes under Chadli Molintas Command of Ilocos-Cordillera Regional Committee operating underground in the areas of Benguet and adjacent provinces.

Along with their surrender, “Noel” turned-over one (1) Japanese Arisaka Type 99 Bolt action rifle bearing no serial number with two (2) pieces of 7.62mm ammunition while “Joey” turned-over one (1) M1 Carbine bearing no serial number with one (1) magazine and two (2) pieces of 7.8mm live ammunition and two (2) cartridge 40mm high explosives.

Meanwhile, in Abra, alias “Ogie”, 56, farmer, an MB and was a part of the Special Unit Pangpolitika, voluntarily surrendered in Brgy Tui, Daguioman, after series of negotiations initiated by the operating teams of Abra police and RIU14.

Accordingly, as “Ogie” turns his back from the armed struggle, he expressed his support to the unification programs of the government.

The surrenderees are now under the custody of respective units in charge for debriefing and proper disposition while the surrendered firearms and live ammunitions were turned-over to RMFB15’s supply officer for safekeeping.

Further, as they start anew, they will be processed to avail of the benefits under the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) to aid them as they get back on track in a normal and peaceful living together with their families. (PROCOR-PIO)
