13.2-M worth Marijuana plants burned in Kibungan, Benguet

CAMP MAJOR BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet –  (April 6, 2021) – The continuous anti-illegal drugs operations of Police Regional Office Cordillera resulted to the discovery of a total of 13.2 million worth of marijuana plants in a 2-day operation from April 3-4, 2021.

Citing the reports of PCOL REYNALDO PASIWEN, Provincial Director of Benguet PPO, Benguet operatives discovered marijuana plantation sites in a communal forest at Sitio Tableo, Brgy Badeo as they trekked the mountains of Kibungan, Benguet.

On April 3, operatives uprooted a total of 2,100 pieces fully grown marijuana plants cultivated in an estimated land area of 300 square meters with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 420,000.00.  Found also within the site is a 10 kg abandoned dried marijuana stalks amounting to SDP of Php 1, 200,000.00.

On the following day, in an estimated land area of 4,000 square meters, 28,000 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with an SDP of Php 5,600,000.00 were uprooted by the operatives. In addition, a total of 50 kg abandoned dried marijuana stalks amounting to SDP of Php 6,000,000.00 were found. To sum-up, a total of Php 13,220,000.00 fully grown marijuana plants and dried marijuana stalks were destroyed and burned onsite by the operatives. (PROCOR RPIO)
