Taqueria CHUPACABRA Mexican food now open at SM City Baguio

Taqueria CHUPACABRA formally opened with Angelica and Nestle Sapitola leading the ribbon cutting on October 25, 2022, held at Sky Terraces, SM City Baguio.

Mexican food is popular because it’s full of flavor. The Mexican dishes include healthy and fresh ingredients like avocados, beans, chiles, tomatoes, and other vegetables, and different types of meat like beef, chicken, pork, fish, and lamb, among others used in tacos, tamales, or soups.

There’s a common perception that Mexican food is both spicy and heavy but, in fact, true Mexican food has both a depth of flavor – with its combination of savory and earthy flavors – and a fresh lightness from its generous use of fresh herbs, vegetables, and citrus.

Tacos. It’s the most popular Mexican dish globally. Usually served with fillings like steak and chorizo.

But, here in the newly opened Mexican Restaurant, Taqueria CHUPACABRA will serve you a Mexican Street Taco that comes in a freshly made soft corn tortilla (made from corn masa, not from regular white flour), and can be ordered with a choice of fillings. It is then topped very simply with chopped onions and fresh cilantro. No lettuce, no cheese, no gringo-style ground beef.  It is served open-faced on a little and fresh lime is squeezed on by the diner, then picked up and folded slightly, and into the mouth, it goes in three or four bites. A simple,  supremely satisfying taste explosion. Commonly in Mexico, people will eat, three, four, five, or more tacos at a time.

Other Good Stuff is Quesadillas – cheese & garlic, carne asada, Jalapeno & Cheese, Chili Con Carne & Tortilla Chips, Lord of the Wings – Big and meaty wings, brined then seasoned with a secret spices, crisp- tried to golden brown perfection, tossed in a spicy glazed, and served with our homemade ranch dressing. Quezo Fundido – Hot melted cheese dip served with tortilla chips, a Mexican fave.

Nachos Especiales  – Layer of nacho chips in a plate with ground beef, beans, tomato salsa, guacamole, black olives, and jalapeno peppers topped with cheese sauce & sour cream.

BURRITOS which is regular/grilled and wet available are Mission Style, San Diego Style, and Chimichanga.
