RAB IN ACTION EARLY IN THE NEW YEAR!
On a partly sunny and rainless Sunday morning, RAB (Rehabilitation Action for Baguio) volunteers congregated early at their recently adopted park at Pacdal Circle, Illusorio Drive, to conduct one of their frequent maintenance clean-up initiatives. Green-thumbed volunteers also laid decorative plants on the ground.
When their civic good deed was done, volunteers celebrated the 3 Kings holiday with a potluck picnic at the same venue. Unable to hold their annual Christmas party this year, RAB volunteers found time for games and merriment after the picnic where food was lavish as usual.
Before activities concluded for the day, RAB’s chair mam Rosalie Castañeto updated the membership on scheduled improvements for the park. The repair of the park’s dilapidated centerpiece gazebo is to commence as early as January 6; a contractor has already been lined up and needs new roofing material purchased. Sir Doy Tabi, a RAB volunteer who happens to work at the mayor’s office informed the group that the city has plans to build additional visitor parking in the park, and eventually build a badly needed C.R. as well.
RAB is proud to be able to continue its commitment to help the city’s environmental rehabilitation programs, in 2025 and beyond. # Photo by: Mario Oclaman //FNS
