NBI-CAR agent discover illegal logging activities after issuing Search Warrant to the suspects in Mt. Province

Sabangan, Mt.

The salient information gathered and validated therefore justified the granting and issuance on 31 August 2021 of FOUR (4) Search Warrants by the Hon. Daniel D. Mangallay, Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, Branch 64, Abatan, Buguias, Benguet, for the confiscation of said pine lumber in the four (4) identified subject areas.

Province Provincial Police Office, Mt. Province Provincial Mobile Force Company, Sabangan Municipal Police Office, Mt. Province Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO), and CENRO – Sabangan, Mt. Province, were jointly served and implemented said Search Warrants.

The Subjects of the Warrants were not present during the implementation, giving no recourse but only the available lawful occupants of the areas identified in the Search Warrants together with the Barangay Officials witnessed the execution of the same. Verily, the Search Warrants were implemented in an orderly and peaceful manner.

Province.

The proper return of the Search Warrants subsequently followed thereby informing the issuing court of the result thereof and charges for Violation of PD 705. Consequently, cases for violation of PD 705 as of press time is being prepared to be filed against Subjects. ###
