CORDILLERA COPS JOIN NATIONAL WOMEN’S MONTH CELEBRATION

(March 3, 2021) – In honor to all women and in recognition to their vital role and contributions to the society especially in battling the pandemic, the different units of Police Regional Office Cordillera joined in the month-long celebration of the women’s month with kick-off ceremony in their respective Police Provincial Offices (PPO).

In Apayao PPO, two policewomen were awarded commendations for their active contributions during the pandemic. Certificates of commendation were awarded to PEMS Gemma Malag for her Good Samaritan act of building a House Project in consonance to the “Bayanihan We Heal as One,Build as One, and Win as One”, and to PCpl Myla B Langag for her active participation in the campaign against wanted person in the province.

In Abra PPO, Provincial Director PCOL CHRISTOPHER T ACOP, led the kick-off ceremony having Honorable Mayor Jane M. Cecila as the guest of honor and speaker.  In her speech, Hon. Cecilia quoted  ” Let us all celebrate the role of women, amplify their voices, let them lead and take their role, make them feel empowered”.  

In Mt Province PPO, activities are being organized for the month-long celebration. These are the shoot fest for policewomen, clean-up drive and Collect For A Cause which aims to help a student who is currently undergoing kidney dialysis.

In Ifugao PPO, different activities are also being lined up such as visitation to female inmates, bloodletting activity, barangay visitation and lectures as well as visitation to recovering drug personality.

Finally, in Kalinga PPO, police wore purple facemask during the kick-off ceremony at Camp Juan M Duyan, Bulanao, Tabuk City, purple being the internationally recognized color to symbolize women. Tarpaulin regarding women’s month was also posted to raise awareness. ###
