City updates entry protocols for travelers to Baguio

BAGUIO CITY  –  (March 2, 2021) – Mayor Benjamin Magalong issued on March 2 issued Executive Order No. 29 series of 2021 updating travel protocols for those entering the city pursuant to Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases Resolution 101-2021 imposing uniform traffic protocols in the country.

As per the entry guidelines, testing and travel authority will no longer be required but travelers will still have to register with the city’s online entry portals (visita.baguio.gov.ph for tourism and personal/leisure travels and hdf.baguio.gov.ph for returning Baguio residents and other traveler classifications).

Entrants will also have to undergo triage for health assessment. Triage 1 is located at the various checkpoints set up at the city’s main gateways while Triage 2 is at the Central Triage Unit at the Baguio Convention Center.

Travelers found to be symptomatic at triage will have to undergo RT-PCR testing and will be quarantined pending results.

It was however emphasized that travelers must strictly comply with the public health standards to guard against the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) amid the eased up restrictions.

Following is the list of traveler classifications and specific requirements:

I. Non-Resident APORs on Official Travel

a. Government Sector – Travel order from work/office; Employment ID; Registration at hdf.baguio.gov.ph; Triage 2

b. Private Sector – Travel order from work/office; Valid gov’t issued ID; Proof of employment or business/employment ID or work-related documents; Registration at hdf.baguio.gov.ph; Triage 2

*If health workers, proceed to Triage 1.

II. Government and Private APORs who currently reside or work in Baguio and traveling daily or weekly through city borders on home-to-work and vice versa route – If no valid Gov’t ID present Certificate issued by the Barangay or residence as proof of employment and current address; Employment ID; Registration at hdf.baguio.gov.ph; Triage 1

III. Non-APOR residents returning to Baguio from personal, leisure, or non-work-related travels in other localities – Valid Gov’t ID or Barangay Certificate of Residence; Registration at hdf.baguio.gov.ph; Triage 1

IV. Returning Baguio Resident — Valid Gov’t ID or Barangay Certificate as proof of residence; Registration at hdf.baguio.gov.ph; Triage 2

V. Returning OFWs & returning overseas Filipinos – Valid Gov’t ID; Valid Passport, travel documents or ACR I-Card; Medical Clearance issued by Bureau of Quarantine at the airport, OWWA/POEA documents or Seaman’s Book, Proof of residence in Baguio; test conducted upon arrival in the Philippines; Registration at hdf.baguio.gov.ph

VI. Medical Purpose

a. Non-emergency – Valid Gov’t ID; proof of confirmed medical appointment; Registration at hdf.baguio.gov.ph

b. Medical Emergency – no requirements, go directly to the medical facility

VII. Drop and Go travelers – Valid Gov’t ID and registration at hdf.baguio.gov.ph; Triage 1

VIII. Passing through – Valid Gov’t ID and registration at hdf.baguio.gov.ph; Triage 1

IX. Non-residents going to the city for personal/leisure or non-work related purposes – Valid Gov’t ID; register at visita.baguio.gov.ph and proceed to Triage 2

X. Tourists – Registration at visita.baguio.gov.ph.

Government agencies and instrumentalities providing emergency services or humanitarian aid during calamities will be afforded unhampered passage while cargo for essential and non-essential goods,

logistics and delivery services and utilities for water, electricity, IT, telecommunications, fuel, and waste management will remain unhampered but may be subjected to random inspections by the Baguio City Police Office.  – Aileen P. Refuerzo
