Abra cops conduct community outreach for learners in Lacub

As part of their National Children’s Month Celebration, police officers of Lacub Municipal Police Station (MPS) conducted community outreach activities in two (2) far-flung barangays in Lacub, Abra.

In Brgy Guinguinabang, Lacub cops together with the Philippine Army and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) members conducted an outreach activity that benefited a total of 150 learners in the area.

During the event, the team conducted a feeding activity and distributed school supplies to the learners of Guinguinabang Day Care Center, Our Lady of Guadalupe School, and Alfredo Bersamina National High School.

Meanwhile, in Brgy Lan-ag, Lacub cops together with the Philippine Army distributed school supplies and hygiene kits to the 30 learners of Lan-ag Day Care Center.

As both barangays are considered as far-flung areas in Lacub, Abra, the team hiked for almost two (2) hours, passing through a river, paddy fields, and a hanging bridge, to reach Brgy Guinguinabang while the team also hiked for almost five (5) hours, crossing through a river, to reach Brgy Lan-ag.

These activities aim to reach out the communities in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAS) in the municipality of Lacub. (PROCOR-PIO)
