SSS Bontoc Brings Services Closer to Members through E-Wheels Activity

Cervantes, Ilocos Sur – The Social Security System (SSS) Bontoc Branch successfully conducted its E-Wheels service activity here last April 7, 2026, benefiting around 280 members and prospective members.

The initiative brought essential SSS services directly to the community, allowing participants to conveniently access record updating, online account registration, SSS number application, benefit, and loan processing, as well as contribution and loan payments—all in one venue. The activity reflects SSS Bontoc’s continuing commitment to making its services more accessible and inclusive, especially for those in remote areas.

The E-Wheels activity is part of the branch’s broader effort to expand membership coverage and strengthen contribution collection. By bringing frontline services closer to the people, SSS Bontoc aims to ensure that all workers are provided with mandatory social security protection, reinforcing the agency’s mandate of safeguarding the welfare of Filipino workers.

SSS Bontoc Branch Head Michael Alain Pinlac, PhD, emphasized that the initiative also responds to the current challenges faced by members, particularly the rising transportation costs. “This is a proactive approach of the branch to ease the burden brought about by the ongoing crisis. We are now coming to the members—they no longer have to travel to our office to transact with us,” Pinlac said.

With the success of the E-Wheels activity, SSS Bontoc reaffirms its dedication to delivering responsive and accessible public service, ensuring that no member is left behind in accessing social security benefits. Next stop for SSS Bontoc E-Wheels service will be on April 10, 2026 at Abatan, Buguias; Colalo, Mankayan and Balili, Mankayan.

Aside from all towns of Mt. Province, SSS Bontoc also covers the towns of Cervantes and Quirino in Ilocos Sur, Bakun, Buguias and Mankayan in Benguet. #
