PRO CAR SEARCH WARRANT OPERATION YIELDS MARIJUANA GREENHOUSE IN TUBLAY

PRO CAR SEARCH WARRANT OPERATION YIELDS MARIJUANA GREENHOUSE IN TUBLAY

A marijuana greenhouse was discovered by operatives of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-CAR during the implementation of a search warrant in Barangay Caponga, Tublay, Benguet, on March 26, 2026.

The operation was the result of an intensified follow-up investigation stemming from the earlier arrest of the greenhouse owner during a successful buy-bust operation in the same barangay on March 12, 2026. Subsequent monitoring led to the issuance of a search warrant on March 24, 2026, by the Regional Trial Court, First Judicial Region, in La Trinidad, Benguet.

The implementation of the search warrant was carried out today, led by PRO CAR Regional Director, PBGEN ERICSON D DILAG, alongside PDEA-CAR Regional Director, Mr. Martin R. Francia. They were joined by PCOL LEDON D MONTE, Deputy Regional Director for Operations, and PCOL LAMBERT A SUERTE, Provincial Director of the Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO), together with their respective operating units, RIU-14 and PDEA-CAR. To ensure transparency throughout the documentation process, representatives from the local government and members of the media were also present.

During the operation, operatives discovered and uprooted a total of 90 fully grown marijuana plants cultivated inside the greenhouse, with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP18,000.00. The inventory of the seized marijuana was conducted on-site in the presence of required witnesses. The plants were subsequently destroyed to prevent replanting, while sufficient samples were preserved and turned over to the Regional Forensic Unit–CAR for laboratory examination.

PBGEN DILAG emphasized the importance of proactive engagement among police personnel, barangay officials, and community leaders—even beyond their immediate areas of responsibility—to ensure the early detection and prevention of illegal drug activities. He underscored that vigilance, coordination, and strong community partnerships remain essential in sustaining the region’s anti-illegal drug efforts.

This operation underscores the continuing collaboration between law enforcement agencies and the community in combating illegal drugs. PRO CAR reiterates its call for public vigilance and encourages the timely reporting of suspicious activities to help achieve a safer and drug-free Cordillera. (RPIO PRO CAR / File Photo)
