PRO CAR Kicks Off the 2026 National Women’s Month Celebration

Marking a national celebration of women’s empowerment and service, the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR), under the leadership of PBGEN ERICSON D DILAG, formally launched the 2026 National Women’s Month at the Masigasig Grandstand, Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet, on March 4, 2026.

The celebration was graced by Mrs. Maria Catbagan-Aplaten, Director IV of the Office of the Secretary, Department of Social Welfare and Development – Central Office, who served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.

In attendance with the Regional Director were PBGEN JULIO S LIZARDO, Deputy Regional Director for Administration; PCOL LEDON D MONTE, Deputy Regional Director for Operations; PCOL FROILAND B LOPEZ, Chief Regional Staff; members of the Regional Staff; and other key officers and personnel of PRO CAR. The ceremony featured a battalion formation composed of male personnel, symbolizing solidarity and strong institutional support for women’s empowerment and gender equality.

In her message, Mrs. Catbagan-Aplaten recognized PRO CAR as one of the finest PNP units and encouraged its women to embody the strength and spirit of Igorot women, while carrying the wisdom and responsibility of the Babaylan to guide their efforts toward a safer and more inclusive society.

“You are the true heartbeat of the Cordillera mountains, the modern protectors of our heritage—the pride of the Igorot and the soul of the Babaylan. Never dim your light. Lead with compassion and the unwavering courage of those who came before you,” she added.

More than a celebration, this occasion reaffirms PRO CAR’s commitment to empowering women and ensuring equal opportunities in the workplace and the community. It recognizes the vital role of women in law enforcement as protectors, mentors, and community leaders, underscoring that an inclusive organization fosters a safer and stronger society for all.
