The Cordillera Administrative Region Training Center (CARTC) formally welcomed 159 new patrolmen and patrolwomen into the Philippine National Police during the traditional Reception Rites held earlier today, January 5, 2026, at the CARTC Formation Grounds in Teachers Camp, Baguio City.

The ceremony, which marks the recruits’ official entry into the police training environment, was presided over by PCOL LEDON D MONTE, Acting Deputy Regional Director for Operations of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR), who served as Guest of Honor and Speaker. He was joined by PCOL ROLAND L SACYAT, Chief of CARTC, and PLTCOL ARNOLD O VENTURA, Assistant Chief of CARTC, alongside CARTC officers, staff, and personnel.

The recruits, comprising PSBRC Classes 2025-01 (Alpha to Echo) and 2025-02 (Alpha to Charlie), will now undergo the rigorous six-month Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC). The program is designed to equip them with the essential knowledge, skills, discipline, and values required for effective and ethical police service.

In his inspirational address, PCOL MONTE urged the new recruits to fully embrace the core values of discipline, integrity, and dedication.

“As you begin this journey, remember that these values are the foundation of becoming truly professional and service-oriented police officers. Your commitment today will define the protector you become tomorrow,” he added.

The Reception Rites serve as a meaningful yet challenging initiation, assessing the physical and mental readiness of the recruits before their formal training begins. Steeped in tradition, the ceremony symbolizes the start of a regimented life in uniform and the first step in the transformation from civilian to principled public servant.
