P7.3 M WORTH OF MARIJUANA BRICKS SEIZED, SUSPECTS ELUDE ARREST

Approximately sixty-one (61) kilograms worth P7,380,000.00 of dried marijuana leaves were recovered while two drug suspects evaded arrest during a drug bust at Brgy Agbannawag, Tabuk City, Kalinga on the night of October 3, 2025.

Fifty-nine (59) bricks of dried marijuana leaves, five (5) vacuum-sealed plastic bags of dried marijuana fruiting tops, and a motorcycle that the suspects used to deliver the illegal drugs before fleeing the operatives, were all seized by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Cordillera (PDEA-CAR) Mountain Province Provincial Office (lead unit of the operation) together with Apayao, Kalinga Provincial Offices and the local police.
RD Derrick Arnold C. Carreon stated that one of the suspects was recognized as a man from Brgy. Agbannawag, while the identity of the other suspect is unknown. However, an investigation and follow-up operation is underway to locate the suspects.
Even if the suspects remain at large, they will face charges for violation of Section 5, Article 2 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. ###
