PRO CAR Top Cop Conducts First Command Visit to Mountain Province PPO
The men and women of the Mountain Province Police Provincial Office (PPO), led by the Officer-in-Charge, PCOL MARCELO B POLIG, warmly welcomed PBGEN ERICSON D DILAG, Regional Director of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region, during his first Command Visit to the Mountain Province PPO at Camp Lt. Geronimo F. Montes, Bontoc, Mountain Province on September 11, 2025.
As PBGEN DILAG set foot on the grounds of the Mountain Province PPO, he was greeted with the vibrant sound of gongs and a traditional dance performed by the Mountain Province PPO cultural dancers and was accorded arrival honors.
As part of the program, the Regional Director personally awarded the Medalya ng Kagalingan to four deserving personnel of the Mountain Province PPO in recognition of their successful arrest of the No. 2 and No. 8 Regional Topmost Wanted Persons.
Further, PBGEN DILAG took the opportunity to address the men and women of Mountain Province PPO, emphasizing the core values of MakaDiyos, Makatao, Makakalikasan, and Makabansa, while reminding them to be fair and to remain steadfast in carrying out their duties—principles that will serve as a constant reminder for police officers in the performance of their responsibilities.
“I call upon you to give your full support to the ongoing programs of the Philippine National Police — from anti-criminality campaigns and community policing efforts to our administrative reforms. These are not merely mandates of the PNP; they are our shared commitments to the welfare of every resident of Montañosa,” he added.
After the program, PBGEN DILAG presided over a command conference, which was attended by Mr. John K. Likigan, Provincial Administrator of Mountain Province; Atty. Agosto C. Libang, NAPOLCOM Provincial Officer of Mountain Province; Mrs. Daisy A. Payang, Provincial Director of DILG-Mountain Province; PCOL LEDON D MONTE, Deputy Regional Director for Operations; PCOL JAY C DIMAANDAL, Chief of the Regional Comptrollership Division (RCD); PLTCOL NIXON L LAOYAN, Chief of the Regional Intelligence Division; PLTCOL DAINIS O AMUGUIS, Deputy Chief, RCD; and police officers of Mountain Province PPO.
During the meeting, PCOL POLIG presented the crime prevention strategies being implemented in the province, along with updates on the current peace and order situation, accomplishments, and ongoing security measures, particularly in addressing recent disputes in the area.
In his guidance, PBGEN DILAG emphasized the importance of unity in achieving success and highlighted the need to foster strong relationships and close collaboration with stakeholders to sustain peace and order in the province. (RPIO PRO CAR / File Photos)
