PRO CAR Deploys over 1,800 Personnel for Typhoon and Monsoon Response

To ensure the safety and security of communities across the Cordillera Region, the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) has activated its full disaster response protocols, deploying over 1,800 personnel to address the ongoing impacts of successive typhoons and the intensified Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

Under the directive of PRO CAR Regional Director, PBGEN ERICSON D DILAG, a total of 1,116 police officers have been assigned to Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) teams, with an additional 730 personnel forming Quick Reaction Teams (QRT).

These highly trained units are prepared for immediate deployment to vulnerable and high-risk zones.

Additionally, 108 police officers have been dispatched on the ground to perform specific duties, including 5 personnel assigned to search, rescue, and retrieval operations, 11 personnel from the Women and Children Protection Desk stationed at evacuation centers, 24 personnel securing vital installations, and 46 personnel conducting road monitoring operations across various areas in the region.

These teams are tasked with crucial operations such as rescue and evacuation, relief assistance, and maintaining peace and order in areas affected by heavy rains, widespread flooding, and landslides.

PRO CAR also continues to work in close coordination with local government units, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices, and other government agencies to deliver immediate assistance and ensure the safety of residents.

In his message, PBGEN DILAG reaffirmed PRO CAR’s steadfast commitment to public service, particularly in the face of natural disasters. He emphasized that “preparedness is the key to saving lives and minimizing damage.”
