Winners in 31st National Children’s Month City Got Talent bared

Winners in the 31st Childrens’ month Got Talent were honored during the culminating program at Upper Session road, Sunday, Dec. 3 where Mayor Benjamin Magalong handed out the awards. 

Joining the mayor were Special Services Division (SSD) head Michelle Agbuya, Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) head Dr. Samuel Aquino, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) City head Millicent Carino, Helping Hands, Healing Hearts Ministries (HHHHM) head Gina Claire Henderson, Committee chair for Social Services, Women and Urban Poor Councilor Elmer Datuin, City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) Officer-in-Charge Cynthia Langagan who gave out plaques, certificates and cash prizes for every section.

In his message, the mayor noted the childrens’ talents and skills and encouraged them to develop leadership skills. This would redound to maintain Baguio’s reputation as a “Child-Friendly City,” the mayor said.

The theme for the celebration is “Healthy, Nourished, Sheltered; Ensuring the Right to Life for All.”

For Section Six, Maegan Jannah de Vera of ABCR topped the oral reading competition with a P1,500 prize; Whinona Torres of A. Bonifacio barangay placed second with a P1,000 prize; and Zairrah Saeth Alvez of Salud Mitra was third place with P500 prize. 

For the solo singing competition; Amelia Aurora Baclangen of MRR Queen of Peace, Whinona Torres (A. Bonifacio), Simon Andaya of Upper General Luna won first, second and third places with P1,400; P800 and P400 cash prizes respectively. 

Angela Sumibcay of Kayang Extension; Jhayro Lilgee Halog (S. Mitra); and Sophia Faith Dinos of (U. Gen. Luna) won first, second and third in the poster making contest with P1,500; P1,000 and P500 prizes respectively.

S. Mitra brgy won P3,000 in the hip hop dance; while 2 participants from Fairview brgy won P1,500 each in the dancesport contest. 

Section Five’s Lance Ivoe Taborda of Guisad Surong, Samuel Isaiah Amagen of Lower Magsaysay and Althea Grace Ruben Crompido of Cresencia Villa won first, second and third places in the oral reading competition with P1,500; P1,000 and P500 as prizes. 

Japheph Zion Tica of Slaughterhouse compound, Keziah Sacragon of Cresencia Village, Penny Cosme Afidchao of Guisad Central won first, second and third places in the Solo singing contest with P1,400; P800 and P400 as prizes.   

Jirah Mhyrr Belmonte of Pinsao Pilot; Rayline Joy Ordona (Guisad Surong), Glamor Xea Metid (Guisad Central) won P1,500; P1,000; and P500 respectively in the poster making contest. 

Slaughter house compound and Padre Burgos barangays won first and second places in the hiphop dance competition with P3,000 and P2,000 cash prizes respectively.

In the cultural dance competition, Guisad Central, Pinsao Pilot and Slaughter house compound placed first, second and third; with cash prizes of P3,000; P2,000 and P1,000 respectively. 

In the dance sport competition, Ashley Amante (S. house compound) and his  partner won P1,500 each.        

Section Four has Gabriel Tristan Solano of Brgy San Luis, Amar Van Dimaun of Upper Rock Quarry and Ma. Shaine Fernandez of Palma Urbano won first, second prizes in the oral reading contest; Ashley Jhiannne Rivera of Dominican Mirador, Alyssa Jane Bondoc of Upper Rock Quarry and Angel dela Cruz of Upper QM won first, second and third prize in the solo singing contest; while Sean Archie Tuazon, Patricia Isabel Linsangan of Lourdes Subdivision Extension and Ysabelle Misha Buangan of Lourdes Subdivision Proper won first, second and third places in the poster making contest.

For the hip hop dance competition, Lower Rock Quarry, Lourdes Subdivision Extension and City Camp Central won first, second and third places respectively. 

Seth Matthew Bambalan and his partner from City Camp Central won P1,500 each in the dance sport competition.        

For Section 3, Princess Kristiine Benitez of Upper Quezon Hill, Andhrie Clyne Lapindo of Sto. Tomas Central won first and second places, respectively, in the oral reading competition, Khen Yvonne Macalintal of Upper Quezon Hill, Justine Borja of Sto. Tomas Proper and Mwxyz Patongao of Pinget won first, second and third place in the solo singing contest.

Miranda Tifanny of Bakakeng Central, Shania Calngan and Wreglyn Brucio of Upper Quezon Hill won first, second and third prizes in the poster making contest, Bakakeng Norte/Sur, an unnamed competitor and Pinsao Proper won first, second and third places in the hip hop contest, while an unnamed barangay, Dontogan and Pinsao Proper are first, second and third places in the cultural dance competition, all with corresponding cash prizes. 

Section Two’s winners in the competitions are; Kelvin Dwayne Capinding of Camp 7, Mackvienne Ternola of San Vicente and Misha Riel Garcia of DPS Compound won first, second and third places in the oral reading competition; Toby Keith Mondiguing (Camp 7),  Reign Noel  Carlise Jularbal of Loakan-Liwanag and Mahonri John Pio Eng of Scout Barrio are first, second and third places in the solo singing contest. 

For the poster making contest, Lian Carlo Asuncion of Engineers Hill, Annika Danielle Layadmi Mochis of Loakan Liwanag and Aaron Juan Villasis of Marcoville are first, second and third places; while Zaimon Gabrielle Bautista of San Vicente, DPS compound and Camp 7 won first, second and third place in the hiphop dance contest with corresponding cash prizes.

Marijoy Jimenez of San Vicente, barangays Loakan Apugan and Camp 7 were first, second and third prize winners in the cultural dance competition. They received corresponding cash prizes, same as the other sections.   

From Section One; Melbeh Laurene Tomanan of South Sanitary Camp, Abegail Cortez of Imelda Village and Raya Claire Dayao of South Drive won first, second and third place, respectively in the oral reading competition; Jillian Clalire Sunggadan of Leonila Hill, Zoe Bella Asuquo of Trancoville, Ayah Aikah Agbuya of Lopez Jaena are first, second and third place, respectively in the solo singing competition;  Maria Angelica Saysay of Holy Ghost Extension, Lexi Janell Monces of North Central Aurora Hill and Reese Rean Bustos of Happy Hallow are first, second and third place, respectively, in the Poster Making Contest.

For the hiphop dance contest, Brookspoint, Holy Ghost Proper and San Antonio Village won first, second, and third places, respectively; while in the Cultural dance, Saint Joseph Village, Brookspoint and Country Club Village won first, second and third places, respectively.    

For the dancesport, Arleen Gaile De Vera and partner Brookspoint won first prize, with Isaiah Mary Del Mar of Imelda Village placing second place. 

All winners were given the corresponding cash prizes, for the month-long inter-barangay and city-level activities and competitions
