Two construction workers were rescued from a soil erosion

Two construction workers were rescued from a soil erosion incident that transpired in Brgy. Abatan, Bauko, Mountain Province in the morning of March 1, 2023.

According to Bauko MPS, together with the personnel of 1st Mt Province Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Bauko responded to a phone call from Luis Hora Memorial Regional Hospital informing them about three construction workers trapped inside a hole caused by a soil erosion that occurred while working at the said hospital.

The victims were identified as Mark Steve Nabor; Rodante Nabor Laluan; and Rocky Espino Viernes, all are employed construction workers at Luis Hora Memorial Regional Hospital.

Accordingly, the three were installing steel footing at the compound of the said hospital when the soil suddenly eroded causing the three victims to be trapped inside the hole.

The victims were immediately rushed to Luis Hora Memorial Regional Hospital but Mr. Laluan was pronounced dead due to asphyxia while Mr. Nabor and Mr. Viernes, who sustained minor abrasions were now in stable condition and are now undergoing medical treatments. (PROCOR-PIO / File photo)
