56 Police and 4 Army to undergo Criminal Investigation course in Abra

CAMP MAJOR BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – two classes of Criminal Investigation Course (CIC) formally opened in a ceremony held at Camp Juan Villamor, Calaba in Bangued, Abra on January 18, 2021.

The CIC Class No. 782-2021 and 783-2021 consist of a total of 60 participants, with 30 participants in each class. Of the 60 participants, 56 are Police Officers while 4 are members of the Philippine Army.

CIC is a 35-day course that will end on March 5, 2021. It is focused mainly on basic investigation and aims to elevate the investigative standards of the PNP organization. The course will train police officers to be competent and effective field investigators who possess the skills and the right attitude to work on a case and pursue it until the case is resolved by the courts.

The event was graced by Atty. Materno Marcos Ma. G. Cariño, Officer-In-Charge, District Public Attorney’s Office of Lagangilang, Abra, as the guest of honor and speaker.

In his speech, Atty. Cariño imparted to the participants the role of investigation on law enforcement and its applications. He also reiterated that professionalism, integrity, persistence, self-driven, problem solver, reliability and courage are the qualities needed to be a good investigator. (PROCOR RPIO)
